Mike: I think ‘Tarzan’s Nuts’ was inspired by the theme tune to the Tarzan TV show, or did I make that up?
Chris: This is another track that came about because Dave was like, “We need some sort of instrumental!” I remember humming the theme tune off Tarzan to Mike, and he rearranged it. It was very throwaway.
Bedders: When we’d play it live, we used to get people onstage to dance to it.
Woody: We’ve actually played ‘Tarzan’s Nuts’ quite a bit as an encore in recent years. It’s a real laugh. It’s my attempt at an African drum rhythm. I hadn’t got a clue about it, but then I never had a clue about playing ska or reggae, either. I wasn’t technically trained, and really hadn’t played that genre until I met this bunch of ne’er-do-wells.
