Madness boarded the last train in their eight-year group journey with their current single “(Waiting For) The Ghost Train”. Their 23rd single, the first 22 of which all entered the British Top 40, is also their last, after the ska and 2 Tone veterans have since disbanded.
With their incomparable mix of Stax, Motown, Blue Beat and cockney pop, they had played their way into the hearts of numerous fans, who are probably bleeding painfully in the face of Madness-less future times. And the pop scene is once again becoming a lot poorer in terms of humour, reflection on life and entertainment value.
